HIDE&SEEK is a hanging chair inspired by classic Finnish design. The aim of this project is to create a piece of furniture inspired by classic and contemporary Finnish designers, in order to understand Finnish aesthetics, use of materials, philosophy and techniques.
INSPIRATION & SKETCHES
The aim of the project was to re-imagine a classic or contemporary Finnish design in a new product. In this case the element of inspiration was 'HIDE', lighting designed by Laura Väre in 2020, which in the designer's words: "it is for everybody, but especially for those who have had similar old lamps with fringes at some point in their lives (...)".
I wanted to take the idea of hiding and translate it into a chair that could give the user the same cozy and feeling as the fringes, and recreate their movement through the structure of the chair.
